Boogie Machine’s Summer of Outdoor Concerts!

Wow! What a season! This has been Boogie Machine’s biggest year for outdoor concerts. We thought we should do a recap to show what it was like.

The season got started early in Snowmass, CO on April 20 at  the 80’S BEACH PARTY with Ronnie Raygun and the Big 80s to celebrate the end of the ski season in Snowmass Base Village. It was a beautiful day for some 80s favorites.

On June 1st, the season got kicked into high gear when Boogie Machine performed at the Denver Chalk Art Festival on Larimer Square, which is a two day  festival. More than 200 artists spent countless hours that weekend turning the streets of Larimer Square into a chalk art spectacle. It was awesome!

June 6 marked the seventh year in a row that Boogie Machine kicked off the Fridays on the Plaza Concert Series in downtown Cheyenne at the Depot Plaza. This is always a great event. This year we ended up doing it in the pouring rain! Hats off to all the hardcores that toughed it out and didn’t let Mother Nature get in the way.

Speaking of rain, Boogie Machine played the following night, June 7, 2014 at the Boulder 29th Street Live! free Summer Concert Series at the 29th St. Mall. It was chilly and drizzly that night but that didn’t stop Boulderites from getting their groove on. What a great experience! The pictures really tell the story.

I want to ride my bicycle! On Friday June 13, Boogie Machine played the finale party after the final stage of Ride the Rockies 2014! The riders descended into Golden, CO after one of the most epic RTR rides ever. Read it about it on their website. Yay! We get to perform in cycling clothes!

Saturday, June 14th marked the only double-header of the summer. Boogie Machine started the day off performing at the Parker Days Festival in Parker, CO. It was early and we got to see a lot of long-time fans. We made it out just before the rain hit.

Later that night, Boogie Machine performed at the Lakewood Heritage Center’s “Sounds Exciting Summer Concert Series” which was a great family event followed by a movie. Guess what? No rain! YAY!

Next up and certainly not least was Glenwood Springs’ Strawberry Days Outdoor Festival on Friday June 20th. It’s a fine arts and crafts festival and concert. Boogie Machine headlined to a rocking crowd that stayed on their feet all night.

This year, we got the pleasure of celebrating our nation’s 238th birthday at the Parker, Colorado Let Freedom Sing! Independence Day Celebration and concert. There were a lot of great family activities as well as some special presentations, one of which was a military wife being surprised by her returning veteran husband, home from the Middle East.

Four more private outdoor shows ensued before Boogie Machine took the stage on July 30th at the Adams County Fair. Holy cow! Pouring rain forced the show to move into the beer tent which created a great “up-close and personal” show. Fair goers were apparently undaunted by Mother Nature and took it in stride.

Next up, on Thursday, August 7 was the Frisco Concerts in the Park Series on Main Street at the Historic Park Gazebo & Lawn. It’s to support various local non-profits and was benefitting the League for Animals & People of the Summit that night. We had a brief wind storm blow thru that actually took out a large tree in the park. But that didn’t stop local Frisco residents from coming out in force. The wind calmed down and lots of dancing made everyone get into the spirit of the moment.

Ribfest, Cheyenne, WY. This is always a great gig! On Friday, August 15th, Cheyenne was true to form at one of their greatest events. BBQ icons showed the West what it’s all about. The put the calories in and Boogie Machine got ’em danced off. What a fantastic night!

Why not three in a row? On Saturday, August 16th Boogie Machine hit the road and headed to Palisade, CO for the Palisade Peach Festival. Man, what a party. The party-goers absolutely refused to stop so the show went long! Hat’s off to Palisade, CO for making this an unforgettable one.

On Friday, August 22, Boogie Machine hit the stage at Longmont’s Festival on Main. Again crowds braved the weather and ignored the rain. We can always dance to keep warm, right?

The last outdoor show of the year was yet one more trip to Cheyenne’s Depot Plaza. This was a new gig. It was the first Healthy Taste of Cheyenne and the Little Big City showed up and showed ’em how it’s done. Beautiful night, lots of happy people. Thanks Cheyenne!

Whew! This was just the outdoor concerts. There were plenty of other memorable private and corporate events, night clubs,  and weddings. Thanks for a great summer Colorado! Let’s do it again in 2015!
